Read for a book club.
Didn't love the writing style (too corny/cheesy for me). Didn't feel like the characters were very well developed. Don't love the tropes
love at first sight/ the characters being obsessed with each other for no reason.

Interesting set-up for a story. Some funny scenes. Wanted to see how the story turned out.

FYI the book contains multiple scenes with explicit sexual content.

Sweet and spicy, never thought I'd finding myself caring so much about the adult children of rock stars. Mel was a touch too perfect but otherwise good fun and holiday cheer.

Adorably cute and so spicy! Great premise that gives the plot durability beyond the romance. I loved Melody and Beat and their moms were pretty damn cool too.

First and foremost: This isn’t a Christmas story. It just takes place in December and ends on Christmas Eve.

Probably the worst book I’ve read in a while. Here are some random thoughts I had while reading.

>>SPOILERS???<<

Names are cheesy.

Whole story so far is kind of cheesy. Very cliche.

Beat is so “I’ll protect her!!!” But in a way that’s kind of annoying instead of hot.

Melody needs to grow a pair and stand up for herself.

They’re 30? Def acting like horny 21 year olds.

Working out together? Don’t think I’ve ever read that lol.

Did we need a detailed description of his happy trail???

Melody - oh I’m quiet and awkward and don’t know how to dress. I date myself and restore books. I’m so ✨different✨ adorkable

Too many pop culture references. Avengers endgame, elf, Zoey, Fleetwood Mac, etc.

“I like things effed up” and “good girl”- major cringe

The curve of those hips belonged in a man’s hands - cringe

Cringy af. Intimate scenes yuck. Lack of romance. Just lust.

“I would love to get you pregnant one day.” Lol wat.

Mind you, this whole story takes place within like-14 days.

I "picked up" the audiobook because the plot intrigued me, but it ended up disappointing me.  I liked Melody as a character, but Beat's aggressive overprotectiveness got *so* annoying. The romance had potential to be cute, but the vibe of their relationship bordered on insta-love the whole time and gave me the ick. Also, this might just be my ignorance because it was my first Tessa Bailey book, but I was *not* expecting that much spice.

I loved it. The banter, characters, all the emotions. Spectacular. This is soulmate trope done right in the real world. People with such similar lives just clicking like this. And the whole livestream plot was so fun.

Soulmate Trope, Edging, 3 1/2 🔥

“He’d learned the hard way that if he allowed himself to be vulnerable, people didn’t always like what they saw.”

“You have shown me that I can only depend on myself. I taught myself how to be okay. Being okay is goals. But I don’t think being okay means avoiding anyone who might test your version of okay. Sometimes the okay boundary changes. You have to fucking step into it. You have to find your okay again. And again and again. Until we die. Welcome to being human.”

“Beat’s throat burned with the need to reach back into the past and rearrange every hour of his life, so it could have been spend with her. Knowing her.”
