A follow-up to her memoir Maid. I enjoyed this one a little bit more because it included more about her experience with higher education as a single mother living below the poverty line.

Follow up to her excellent book Maid. Once again the author is honest and forthright about her life and her struggle to make something of her life for both herself and her children in a system that is invested in perpetuating economic inequality. Should be required reading for every freshman lit class.

Is it good? I guess. Is it as good as Maid? No.
I’m rounding up because I would recommend this book to people that have enjoyed Maid. I would also tell them that they should lower their expectations a bit! Maid was brilliant and it must be hard to make a second book that’s just as good!!!
