Fun book and mostly positive and humorous about a fairly sad topic. Descriptions of places visited are understandably a bit dated now. I was able to read this in both Bill Bryson’s voice or in Peter Jones’s voice.

Read it in one sitting and enjoyed every word. It was funny and informative. If there's any other book like it I'll a) be amazed and b) buy it instantly.

Brilliant, but tragic - at least two of the species in this book have since gone extinct.
