The book does provide a good message for kids; it is fun to try new things by yourself, but you will get lonely if you try to do EVERYTHING alone. However, the crocs in the story all annoyed me. The main one was kind of whiny, and the others had an attitude that I did not like. However, kids probably won't be as picky as I am, and may laugh at the antics of all of the crocs in the story.
