If only they had kept the original ending and Jeff Goldblum's character had died. We would have been spared his performance in JP II.

Loved this book! I'm glad I read "The Rise and Fall of Dinosaurs" before reading Jurassic Park so that I was able to understand more of the Jurassic terminology. The characters really came to life in the book and I had a greater understanding of the park, the dinosaurs, the characters, and the motivation behind Dennis Nedry's fatal decision to steal the embryos. The only part of the book that I didn't enjoy was how annoying Lex was, she was much more of a likable character in the movie adaptation.

I have seen the film and always thought Dennis Nidry caused the downfall of the park, but reading the book and like most real life accidents there is no one cause its a cascade of errors.

And that stems from John Hamonds nievity, scientists mistaken they can control dinosaurs.  This book is one of the authors best.
