This book is great for middle schoolers but I definitely wasn’t the intended audience so I rated it a bit lower based on my experience with the book. The story was very cute though!

How have I not read this book until now? I loved the movie when it came out and always meant to pick it up and read it...but I suppose that it was never the right time. Summer, I do believe, is the perfect time to read "The Lightning Thief". Percy Jackson is an amazing character and I cannot wait to read the next installment of his journey.

This was awfully good - I think Riordan does a fantastic job translating Greek mythology into the modern era. (I especially loved the explanation of why the half-bloods are mostly dyslexic and have ADHD.) Some of the twists were a bit obvious to me as an adult reader, but it was all great fun.
