Lee Winter has done it again! I don't think there's a book of hers I've read and haven't enjoyed immensely.

I'm off to read the sequel now!

Wanted to reread it again before The Fixer was published, turns out I'm late.
Even knowing the plot it is as exciting as it was the first time.
Our fearless, intelligent journalists work together well even as an audiobook, their chemistry is hot, the plot is brilliant and the prose flows perfectly.
If you are looking for a great mystery with compelling leads, look no further.

Lee Winters will be the death of me as this is now the third book of theirs I've stayed up all night reading.

Turns out I'm a sucker for the power and Caustic Queen dynamic. Aside from the tension between the two main characters I also enjoyed the mystery that needed to be solved. Great book.

I truly have no idea why I left this book for so long. I am a great lover of all of Lee Winter’s books, she is definitely one of my favourite lesfic writers at the moment (if not my favourite). Given this is one of Winter’s most popular works, it’s pretty much embarrassing that I haven’t picked it up sooner. Especially considering it had all the suspense, humour, angst and wonderful chemistry that I was hoping for. The romance was amazing, the mystery plot was enthralling, and altogether this was such an addictive read.

The intriguing setting and story of investigative story had me intrigued about this book, and that in addition to some of my favourite romantic tropes (a bit of enemies to lovers and an ice queen thrown into the midst) made this a completely loveable and well-rounded book. I sometimes find myself more focused on the romance rather than mystery in books like this, but in this one I found myself equally engaged by both. The investigative side was really exciting, with a fast paced plot and interesting mystery, and it was the perfect setting for throwing our main characters together.

The chemistry was really quite something. There was lots of witty and flirtatious banter right from the beginning, and the perfect amount of tension between Lauren and Catherine. It was both humorous and deliciously angsty. I absolutely loved watching them dance around each other in the battle of wits, and a great deal of sexual tension. It’s definitely a romance to remember.
