I liked this book a lot actually. Nothing really happened, but I liked the book because I like the characters, if the book had just been about the characters watching paint dry, I would’ve been completely content as well. But I am aware that if it weren’t for me liking the characters, I would be pissed because nothing happened in the book. Lowkey for most of the book Kai and Pae were just in the scorches running from each other or with each other or against each other and then a crazy ending. Lowk fire tho ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

How am I supposed to take this book seriously when the author clearly doesn't? There are high stakes in this book for both main characters, and yet they are completely capable of not taking their lives seriously at all. They banter, dance, kiss, hate each other, love each other, on and on and on, while the fact is that Kai is bringing Paedyn back to his brother to probably torture and kill her. And she's just accepting that?

Nothing happens in this book. They just banter and repeat themselves over and over. They don't seem capable of having a normal conversation, not even when they've just killed someone etc. They just have to make a quirky comment to which the other one always comment some even more witty back. It gets old very fast.

And I still can't get over the fact how quickly Paedyn just forgets about her dead best friend. She's mentioned like what, 1-2 times in this book?

The story and characters just lack so much depth.

I can't describe how I feel right now about everything that I've had feelings for and then vanished with just a phrase in the end. From THE WRONG PERSON.

“You are to be my bride.”

I felt like I'm a little girl who her parents passed away and all the people watching her with a eyes of pity because she didn't get what she wanted att all، I understand why Roberts did that because it's a series of them and i didn't expect this to goo further than it did in the first book, Kai and Payden felt a little delusion in a big ugly reality, and i really loved it, eventhough the end ripped my heart into pieces. This phrase was spoiled to me before on tiktok from a video and i wass so exited because i thought it was something beautiful that happened in this book but it was a BIG mistake to trust that feeling.

I loved this book! Right from page one, I was completely hooked. Kai and Payden’s dynamic? Absolutely magnetic. This wasn’t your run-of-the-mill "enemies to lovers" because, let’s be real, they had feelings for each other back in book one. But now, they’re practically forced into this whole "enemy" role, tangled in duty and a messy past. And yet, no matter how hard they tried to keep it cool, those buried feelings just kept creeping back. Every time they were near each other, the tension was off the charts. Honestly, who were they fooling?

And that ending—here’s the thing, I had a feeling of how it was going to end, but somehow even though I was right, it still floored me! My heart was racing, I tore through the pages like a madwoman, and I was still in shock after I’d finished.

This book had everything—angst, mystery, tension so thick you could slice through it, and a twist that absolutely shook me. Roberts, I need the next book immediately. Roll on 2025 because I am beyond ready for more!

Jajajaj que loco , por qué? POR QUÉ????

I’ve seen very mixed reviews on this one but I really enjoyed the self discovery journey that Paedyn and Kai go on! The ending is also like CRUSH ME and can’t wait to see where the third book takes us!! 3 stars from me ⭐️⭐️⭐️
