Wow! I could not put this book down. This was a great sequel to Powerless and picks up almost right where we left off after the first book. Paedyn is on the run and Kai is tasked with hunting her down.
I absolutely loved the tension between Paedyn and Kai throughout this whole book. This book was more about the relationship between Pae and Kai more than the plot. If I wasn’t totally enamored with Kai after Powerless, I certainly am now. The dynamic between these two characters is just absolutely perfect and the banter is top notch. I don’t think I have ever saved as many quotes in a book before than I did for this one.
If you loved Powerless, you definitely need to read this book. While the plot is not the main driving force in this book, the relationship development between the two main characters will keep you hooked. I will definitely be eagerly awaiting the next book in the series after that plot twist/ cliffhanger ending.

Mmmm… We really lost the plot on this one. I simply can’t give bb Kai Azer lower than 3 stars but this book left me with “okay I liked tha, but did anything actually happen??” And the answer is NO. There was no plot, there were no trials, there was nothing but the same conversation 600 times and a little cat/mouse moment.
HoWeVEr they diddd finally finally finally KISS!!!!
We spent 90% of the book being ‘convinced’ that Kai and Pae don’t love each other, only for them to confess their love (finally) and for it to be blown to bits within the last 10% of the book??
LiSTeN. LiSteN to me. I am NOT on the Kitt hating train (yet). He’s just a baby? He’s confused? He’s grieving? He’s being MANIPULATED BY A MIND READER??? He’s been manipulated his whole life?? I’m UPSET over this ending. And, HONESTLY, if Kitt is now the villain he’s a REALLY bad one. It’s not believable to me, and at this point I’m not convinced he’s actually intended to be the bad guy??
