This was a pretty good ending to the trilogy, but not all that amazing as I'd hoped for. All in all, it was satisfying and we finally receive all the answers we've been craving for. The beginning of the novel did start out a bit slow, surprisingly as you remember the ending of the last one. But twists and turns are around every corner and page, and James Dashner does it again, creating an amazing story in an amazing world.

I struggled between 2 and 3 stars for this ending of the series. At times, it was very slow going. I found that I wasn't as invested in the characters as with the previous books. While the premise was really intriguing and the conflicts of technology versus humanity were compelling, I just couldn't get into this book. Perhaps it was listening to the audiobook? I frequently got distracted and would have to go back and listen to parts I missed. All in all, the ending was satisfactory, but left it open if Dashner wants to go there. Don't know if I would recommend this unless you loved the Maze Runner series or are really interested in transhuman issues/conflicts.

I honestly did not care for this book. I was pretty much done with the series when I started the book anyway. It was so cliche and predictable. It was all "oh no! The VNS is evil" "We have to partner with Kaine! Who would have thought???" It was quite boring. There were also a few references to the Maze Runner series, which would have been super confusing to anyone who hadn't read the series. All in all, not a very good book or series.

I fucking love these books!!!!
So many twists and so much action, i really click with Dashner's writing style

But on a side note, I'll never forgive him for that (if u read it you know what I'm talking about)
