The characters are well fleshed out, and I enjoyed the world they lived in. Their emotions and understanding of their circumstances seemed very realistic to me. I did think the pace was a bit too quick, especially at the start. While I understood why the characters continually returned to each other, I would have liked a bit more build up as to why they were initially drawn to each other.

Well, that was dissapointing. I knew that this book is well loved by many but unfortunatly for me it fell flat pretty fast. I know it's just a short story with only 55 pages in total but nevertheless it felt rushed to me. Because of that I didn't really feel anything for the characters and found them forgettable. Also unfortunatly I'm also not a fan of the writing style.

“There was some open space between what he knew and what he tried to believe, but nothing could be done about it, and if you can't fix it you've got to stand it” will probably never leave my mind.

If you can't fix it you’ve got to stand it...

Heartbreaking and no less powerful for its 50 sparse pages.
