The book started off very strong with the first line being “I killed a little boy today.”

It took me a while to get into some of the British/european slang of the this book, but once I was used to the dialect I was all in. Truly, I started to feel bad for Chrissie given the fact she’s got a shit mom and honestly, I don’t know that I can even blame her for being a murderer as a young child. I’m sure that last comment will get me put up at the guillotine.

I loved the back and forth POV of childhood and adulthood, however, the ending of the book fell a little bit flat for me. When it comes to reading thrillers/horror, I’m not usually looking for or expecting a happy ending so I was a bit put off by that, though I suppose that’s just personal preference.

Overall, I thought it was a great book!

This book was bad and honestly it was not that entertaining. I will most likely give this book away or sell the book online.
The story and plot felt very slow and felt like it did not progress at all. This story was depressing and sad. I gave up on this book at 50% because I could not handle this book anymore.

I really enjoyed this book. Very dark subject matter but with some laugh out loud moments. Chrissie (the child) as a narrator is immensely believable and sympathetic, despite what we know she has done. A credible insight into how 'bad' children come to be labelled as such, how adults let them down but that redemption is possible with the right love and support.
