really struggled to decide between 3.5 and 4.0. the parts i liked i really, really liked, but ciri’s sections with vysygota draaaaaagged on and i kept getting bored. i liked the end of her story as it culminates with her riding to the tower of swallows, but yeah most of the time i was waiting for her sections to be over and get back to geralt or even yennefer

I feel like some of the details related to Cirii could've been ommited. Those made the book unnecessarily dark and violent even for withcer standards. It's certainly quite gross considering how old she was at the time.

Well, I made it to book four and I'm almost done with the series, which makes me a little sad because I really love this series.

I love the world, the characters, the writing even with the little story within story style.

This book starts off, fairly close where the last one left off and while the last book centered a lot  about Geralt and Company, this one is a lot about Ciri and what had happened to her not only since last book but a lot of it in the events from last book.

We learn a lot more about the war, a lot more about Ciri and why she is so important and of course we learn a lot more about everything else as well.

There is not much that can be said about this book without spoiling it so I will kepp it short.

I still love all the characters so much and how all of them are so different from each other and yet they work together awesome as a unit. Of course, things go sideways but they always find a way. Geralt is still injured in this one but that will not stop him from finding Ciri in any way.

We meet some new people and by the end of the book, you will think they were part of the story forever because they fit in so great.

This book seemed a bit slower than the previous books but I still enjoyed it very much. Towards the end it picks up and holy smokes that ending has you begging for more. I can't wait to read the last book and find out how it all ends, even when that means I be done with it and will miss these people.

I rate this book 4 ★

Ich habe zwischen 3 und 4 Sternen geschwankt. Warum?

I took forever reading the books before and forgot the main plot, was too confused by all the new and old characters and it was just too complicated for my taste.
