I’m just confused. Where did the crystals come in? The twist at the end. The tittle should have been one cursed garnet…Cinderella meets beauty and the beast? So many questions needing answers.

At 33%, I decided I could not keep reading this. I could not stand the not-choices framed as choices and the spanking-focused rules, sexual assaults, and torture. There was an over-abundance of the word “hard,” which also was slowly destroying me. I was somewhat intrigued by the world and power system, but it was not enough to keep me engaged. Overall, this was a miss for me.

A strange concept, and not my favorite read. It was a good audiobook to pass the time while I was doing stuff around the house.
I liked the idea of the book and I liked the sometimes subtle references to other fairy tale characters. That being said, I'm just not into the types of kink in this book. It's fine for some but it's just not my thing so I chose not to finish it.

I loved the idea of taking a retelling and adding such a twist like the spin of modern times and crystals.
I loved Thorn btw! He was such a morally grey character, and I was eating it up! 👏🏽
I also loved the side characters and would consider continuing the series to read more about them.
I was taken aback by a plot twist, so that is why I rated this the way I did. It brought it up for sure.

Well, this book easily made the top three in the “worst books I’ve ever read” category.
DNF'd in Chapter 24. I have loved her previous books, This seems so uncharacteristically sophomoric to me. I tried, I really tried to get into the story and it just wasn't working.
