Little Women is a great classic telling a simple story with important lessons throughout. Each of the girls is likeable in their own way and through their differences, the reader is able to understand love, family and respect through different perspectives

It was a goal of mine to read this book. Never read it before, haven't seen any of the movies. It was a absolute slog to get through. The bones of the story are good, but the writing just didn't appeal to me.

This book was really good. Meg was my favorite sibling closely followed by Jo. I liked how every character had a distinct personality and they weren't like walking stereotypes (except for Beth). While there wasn't a huge plot to this, I did enjoy seeing the mundane aspects of the character's lives while the father is off fighting. There was a tense moment at the end of the book I wasn't expecting. I also really liked the atmosphere in this book. It made me want to live in the same time period. And the family's closeness is sonething to be admired. I liked Laurie a fair amount and I really hope his friendship with Jo continues to grow in the sequel. I also liked Amy's chatacter. I'm excited to read about the siblings living 3 years later. This book was good but it's definitely not my favorite classic due to the slow pace of the book. I am excited to watch the movie too.

Such a lovely, gentle read. My only critique is that it's very preachy. But after a foray into gothic lit it was nice to find protaganists that were genuinely kind and thoughtful to one another.
