Definitely could have been edited down - some of the scenes felt redundant and repetitive and the slow burn was maybe a little too slow. The first book remains better. Nonetheless, the characters and the world remain amazing. Liked the build up although not sure how I feel about the ending. Bit of a mixed bag overall.

I had a hard time getting into the book. The jump in time kept me feeling like I'd missed something. The rest of the book made up for it all! And now I don't have the next one with me, and I'm desperate to carry on...
