My first read of 2025! This is the best character study I have ever read by far! Jane Eyre holds values that are timeless, and relatable to all women even in the modern days. I enjoy following her thoughts and her actions throughout the story as they are all entertaining and make sense for her character. I am surprised by the other elements-supernatural, horror, mystery-being seamlessly integrated into the story. I thought this would be like any other classic book like Jane Austen's but I was proven wrong. I deducted one star only because I have to read certain pages and paragraphs twice since the language is a bit confusing to me, and the blurring of some locations weirded me out for some reason. All in all, a really great book that I see myself rereading in the future.

While there are sections of the plot that seem overly long and unnecessary, overall I really enjoyed the story. One aspect that really stood out to me was the horror aspect to the mysterious inhabitant of the house. All though the mystery had previously been spoiled when I watched a tv adaptation, I was surprised that Bronte was still able to send chills down my spine with the way she wrote in that creepy aspect of the story.
