I loved this book. Since it was written so long ago it can be a challenging read but if you take the time to try and understand it, it can be really beautiful. Overall a good read and I gave it a 4/5 stars.

i cannot BELIEVE this took me almost a month to read a third of and then two days to finish the rest…

yeah this book is great. volume one reeeaaalllyyy drags imo but the last two volumes are so fun and interesting and exciting i was Glued to the pages!

jane is perfect, elizabeth is perfect, and mr. darcy is not only perfect but also very obviously coded as autistic (coming from an autistic person) and i would like to read someone delve into that because i feel very passionately about this!

first classic done!! very hard to read tho it took me a while :(

the old timey language makes it soo much harder to read and i deadass had to open litcharts and read it in front of me and also the plot isnt very prominent? like its just normal marriage society so there isnt much substance to the plot and its all very technical problems about money n class so it just made me a little confused. a lot of filler chapters in this book as well.

as for the romance, i totally see why everyone says this is the root of the enemies to lovers trope and its v raw, not dramatic, like truly the irl version of enemies to lovers BUT the slowburn is infuriatinggggg. she doesnt even acknowledge her feelings until like chapter 58?? they dont kiss? the whole book is her denying her feelings (#relate) or trying to justify it as platonic.

the tension tho! cuts like a knife pls the eye contact!! the banter!! the being jealous of everyone he talks to in the room!!! kiss me alr pls

gr8 book tho like gr8 depiction of classism n prejudice and it has such a good meaning behind it IF i wasnt alr thrown off by the language and length of the book. its def a good book esp for those who are alr more into classic lit, but i just dont think its for me. i wont lie n say i wasnt interested (esp aft the midway mark) but im just more into light hearted simple n fantasy plots LOL but gr8 book!! for certain ppl!

one of my all-time favorite books. it is definitely slow-paced, and it can be hard to keep track of the characters at the beginning, but it is definitely worth it!
