Was für eine geile Geschichte! Die Länge tut ihr auch richtig gut, da es Zeit gibt all die kleinen Geschichten zu erzählen, die eine unglaublich faszinierende Welt erschaffen. Und darin spielt dann noch eine super spannende Handlung. Vor allem das Ende hat mich umgehauen, weil es den Erzähler mal in den Fokus gerückt hat.

- Erzähler macht einen Charakterarc durch
- Alles was man über die Welt erfährt ist der Hammer (ein paar Namen kannte ich sogar)
- Erzählungen in Erzählungen in Erzählungen sorgen für eine sehr fragile Glaubwürdigkeit

- Der Szenenwechsel kurz vor dem Ende hat mich kurz rausgerissen
- Es ist ein wenig schade, dass man keine Angst um den Erzähler hat

I listened to the BBC dramatization read by Richard Coyle. Atmospheric and creepy with perfect, subtle music and audio effects to go with it. 10/10

One of my favourite of Lovecraft's so far. A haunting and skin-crawling story that's painted vividly and darkly. Lots of people shy away from reading Lovecraft because of his overt racism, and that does show in this tale as it does in most of his I've read; I certainly connect the villainous world with Lovecraft's appalling views. But for lovers of fantasy-horror, or world-building this fits solidly into the Cthulu mythos creation and is worth reading.
