Wow. This was a journey, like so much had happened I wouldn't even know where to begin except by just saying, I love this book. I can 100% understand why people wouldn't and I think there reasons are incredibly valid.

Dark Romance is a genre that is NOT for everyone, it deals with a lot of dark themes and I urge anyone to check trigger warnings and if you know deep down it is not for you then please don't read it because it seriously won't be worth your time and I'd rather people read stuff they enjoy. And also most importantly your mental health seriously matters.

I loved the plot, I enjoyed the mystery surrounding Adeline and her family and all those action-packed scenes with Zade, I also enjoyed a lot of the dynamics that thread throughout the book. I couldn't believe the cliffhanger and can't wait to get onto the next book!

(Also if anyone has read the trigger warnings and still wants to go into this book, if you haven't already I recommend reading Satan's affair the prequel first which is about the character Sybil, It made it an even more enjoyable reading when reading haunting adeline)

This is not a romance, this is an abusive relationship.

He rapes her multiple times, however this is 'justified' through his other actions somehow, terrible that this is a book that young readers are seeing being advertised to them as romance on TikTok.

Also poorly written, would have been annoyed if I had physically bought this instead of borrowing it.

I feel invested in the series now, but that might just be because my brain just can’t DNF a book to save my life. RIP me. This gets 3 stars because I feel like the plot came together in a way that I can’t decide if I just accepted it was what it was (on brand for the book…) or if it really started to piece together. Some of my friends reallllyyyy enjoyed this book and are all #Zaddy but I just don’t think I can get behind that. The cliffhanger got me. So on to book two.
