This is a reread from my high school days. (Oddly enough it wasn't assigned to us, I just thought it was important, and read it at the same time as "Uncle Tom's Cabin"). My favorite chapter was the one on Slavery and the Church. This is heart-rending.

I had to read this for a class. It offered a good perspective on how slaves, especially females, were abused. I read this very sporadically, so I don't know how long it took me to finish this. The reason for this is because I found myself to be bored at a lot of times (not surprised since this was a required read). Though, I would recommend it to whoever is looking for a good slave narrative.

What can be said about a slave's narrative about her time in slavery and her struggle to earn her rightful freedom?
