Loveless is a great book with relatable characters and topics that need to be discussed more openly! This book is actually quite good if you’re looking for a self discovery book or even just want to educate yourself or get to experience a character finding themselves with them. I did like this book book for the theme and the representation it has in it because that’s so important and one of the reasons I bought it and have wanted to read it for so long! With all of that said, these are my thoughts on it.
The characters in this book are all really likeable and super cute and their interactions with each other are so wholesome that you actually feel for the characters early on. As much as I like books with strong character development and likeable characters sadly it wasn’t enough to help me get through this book. The pacing is really slow and in all honesty I was bored reading this. It takes about 200 pages for anything moderately interesting to happen and even then the climactic parts don’t happen until the last quarter of the book.
Pacing aside the banter the characters have with each other is the best part and their group chat texts that we get to see are hilarious and we’re fun to read. Georgia as a protagonist is relatable and honestly a whole mood, every time she is annoyed I could feel it in my soul and it was always funny to see her reactions.
In the end it’s a great book but it was just way too slow for me and the conflicts and some of the characters decisions in general were just not it for me.
