I liked this one a lot less than its predecessor which was sad. Something about the writing or the pacing really threw me off at the beginning of the book, and the delicious sexiness of the romance only made up for it somewhat. Honestly, I think it mostly felt rushed. First we had the plotline with Remy's mom, & then all the other vampire courts, & then his dad & the Alurian army stuff, and it all just kind of felt like stuff would pop up at random. A couple of the big twists fell pretty flat for me because they happened at weird times or because I hadn't had enough development of the necessary characters for me to care about them.

I'm pretty disappointed about it but it is what it is.
