Was this the best book I've ever read? No, not by a long shot. What it was was a fun and whimsical read. The Bridgerton series is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine.

I love these stories. The characters are so well fleshed out. In this one their fears take precedent, but their love and courage shines through and who doesn't swoon at a love conquers all moment? Kanthony is a dreamy union and whilst I must, unfortunately, say it played out much better on screen (the tension, the chemistry!), we wouldn't have that without our author bringing these characters to life and setting the scene for their courtship.

It's so nice to get some more perspective on the world of Bridgerton. Whilst the first season and book in the series was more or less a mirror image of each other, the second is quite different in parts to what we saw on TV. This helps with the drama and keeps the reader on edge. Reading the book after seeing the show also gives a lot more insight into what makes the characters tick and you get to understand them on a newer deeper level and so I'd highly recommend picking them up to any fans of the show. I really really enjoyed this read.

First off, I enjoyed this book more than the first one.

Nothings more interesting than enemies turned lovers duo. The witty exchange of banters really made this book fun! It was entertaining to watch them do that while not realizing they're falling for each other. Haha!

I love the Pall-Mall game! Kate with her sharp wit is everythingggggg!

The strange thing (but not surprising) is Anthony, the overbearing brother, finally decided to marry and ended up getting hitched with the sister of the woman he's suppose to marry. Never a dull moment in this book!
