"Dream is a river that runs through the Nine Worlds, and Death is only one of them"

I adored this. The stories felt both familiar comfortable and yet strange.

These are generally not happily ever afters (and yet the actual folk and fairy tales collected by the Brothers Grimm rarely were happily ever afters), but provoke thought and reflection.

There are aspects of Norse mythology woven in and retold, but subtle background for the most part.

Different stories, a common thread. I liked this book but didn't love it as the tone of the stories varies and some were better.
I think it's one of those love/hate book.
Recommended.
