Loved this book and very excited for the next as I'm mostly anticipating the next couple .Even though I loved it I felt like it dragged a bit when it got to the middle of the book but I feel like that's just me but nevertheless l loved the relationship between the characters and i enjoyed myself

I wasn’t excited to start this one, as I wasn’t interested in the guards or an MMF situation. But knowing that it’ll shed light on some unanswered questions from book 1 and will set up for subsequent books, I felt I needed to read it (well, listen actually). I loved the epilogue and was pleasantly surprised how I was sucked into the story and was loving it for the first 25-50% or so. But then I lost interest and actually liked it less and less. Reasons are that I really don’t care about Rook. He’s so boring, I don’t understand what Velle and Joy see in him. I also wasn’t buying into the polyamorous relationship. I would’ve expected a bit more hurdles maybe, I don’t know. But this feeling might also be due to Rook, as I didn’t like his character. But I didn’t buy into their sudden “the three of us fot so well together”.
I was totally rooting for the Ivory though, those were the scenes that kept me interested. I look forward to the next installments, which I think will all be MM again.
I do have to say that I really admire the creativity of the author to come up with these amazing smut scenes.
Narrations: The male voices were ok-ish, but the female voice was just horrible. I started to hate it more and more as the story progressed. I guess she thought that speaking this way would come across bad-ass, but it was so robotic (I initially thought it was actually an AI voice) and lazy. The character itself was cool, but the narrator distroyed that sentiment. I wonder if I would’ve liked this story better if I would’ve read it i/o listened to the audio version.
