SPOILER RANT CENTRAL

I have no idea what to rate this. This book was one of the most painful emotional roller coasters I've ever read in my life. I didn't expect that at all, but the authors DESTROYED ME. The characters I cared about so much were crushed and that crushed me. When Alex found out about Reeve and Lillian and he was crushed by it, I was freaking crying in my bed. that god damn rose I knew it was from Reeve when the girl said there was one more.Ughhhhh. I hate that she got mad at him after cause that was the FIRST ROSE HE GAVE ANYONEEEE. And Reeve. I love Reeve so much he's one of my favorite character's. The characters that are bad in the beginning always make me curious about why they do this or that and what their reasoning is. God but when Mary drowned him, and made him and Cho BREAK UP I died inside. I wasn't crying big fat tears but man was I feeling like utter shit inside. It was honestly PAINFUL to read the characters struggle.

And I know it's small but I want closure on the reason why on Halloween that night he said that stuff to Mary. That was an asshole move but it wasn't explained. I'm thinking he's thinks it's a cruel joke cause he's like she's dead who is this impostor and WTH is this. But we never find out.

Also Lillia never tells Reeve everything that happened. Maybe it's not the biggest deal but he deserves to know. You know what. If in the end Lillia and Alex are together, ALEX BETTER FREAKING KNOW. Because some bad shit with Alex went down and he doesn't know it was her that was apart of it.

Don't even start on that half assed end. After all that emotional shit I went through THEY DON'T EVEN END UP TOGETHER? ARE YOU KIDDING ME. There has been so much tension and love and everything but nope it's just one high school fling. Are you serious? They were IN LOVE and you expect me to believe they never talked again at all? He lover her and he freaking was gonna sacrifice his life for her and Kat WTF. And she only broke up with him because of Mary so WTF. It's just sad and he doesn't even go to college properly and she end up with Alex.

Now, I love Alex he's amazing. But after all that, he should have gotten over her and been WITH KAT. He obviously liked her. But even if they didn't end up together, Alex deserves to be with someone who chose him first, not someone who had him as SECOND CHOICE. Alex deserves better and he shouldn't settle for that. And Lillia shouldn't have settled for someone she doesn't love as much as Reeve. WTF THIS BOOK DESRTOYED MEEEEE.

So basically she doesn't even really talk to Kat, she doesn't talk to Reeve, she has some boyfriends that can't come close to Reeve at all, and then Alex kinda talks to her and sends something on her birthday

And then she's like hold her breath to see if he's still into her after he said he was so done cause she BROKE HIS HEART.

And BOOM THEY'RE TOGETHER and she's thinking about planning a trip to Kat with him?

WTFFFFF

And Mary, she was hardly there anymore and her change made us loose the love of the complex character she was. Mary, like REAL MARY was just absent. And there was just this angry ghost lacking the complexity of a human. Like even when humans do bad things they can feel guilty and they also have their mixed moments and they have their reasoning. "Mary" had no reasoning and she had no emotions, just a thirst for blood. I can't feel remorse or true understanding for her that way when she turns into this different being. There was a lot more to Mary before. She just went so so bad. So when she "found peace" I was like THANK GOD THIS SHIT IS OVER NOW THEY CAN GET BACK TOGETHER

but NOPE just rip my god damn heart out. I listened to all these books on Audiobook and I freaking yelled at my phone like AFTER ALL THAT?!

This was a great trilogy but this last book is something I can't rate. Goddamnit I swear if Jenna Han pulls this shit when the last book to the "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" trilogy comes out I'm DONE cause I freaking love those books.

The end was rushed and it just should have been longer. If you make a crappy ending at least stretch it out so I understand everything and can properly grieve. It was short and grazed over everything like it was nothing. Oh yeah Reeve's dreams are gone and the relationship you hurt and cried over never happened after that day even though they loved each other they never spoke again. She chose the other guy who we didn't even see equal tension and love with before. Whateverrrrr.

I had to suffer through that whole book with more and more destroying characters I love, and just hugging my god damn pillow for dear life cause listening to this HURT.

So after addictively staying for all that where my heart is dead and ripped into a million pieces, they decide huh we should make a brutally realistic ending.

Now fine if it's realistic, but you put us through so much crap and you just leave us there hanging? Like I get that things are realistic but it's like there's too much. I mean NOTHING worked out and there needs to be balance for a good ending.

And you don't even break my heart properly and explain

You just sum it up in like 3 pages? I can't tell from the audiobook but the characters got nothing they deserved. THE READERS DIDN'T GET WHAT THEY DESERVED. It's one thing to make an end like this after like just a really sweet high school relationship, or where they try and then they find someone else cause you don't always end up with your high school sweetheart. But readers were TORMENTED AND THE MAIN SHIP DOESN'T FREAKING TALK AGAIN AND THE OTHER AMAZING SHIP WITH AT AND ALEX DOESN'T EVEN COME TOGETHER FOR A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME

WE DIDN'T EVEN GET TO SEE IF SHE TOLD HIM MARY WAS THE ONLY REASON SHE BROKE UP WITH HIM LIKE THAT'S THE LEAST YOU COULD DO

Like GOD JESUS CHRIST WTF

The plot-line was a mess, the supernatural elements were poorly done, and the pacing was ridiculously bad. The characters would talk about going to a place . . . they would go to said place . . . and . . . they'd go home. Nothing would happen. It's sad, because I really enjoyed the first book in this trilogy, and I thought the second one was okay (it made me want to read on), and this book was just bad. I'm not done with these authors, forever, though. I just think this trilogy was poorly thought out and that they used up most of their juice at the very beginning.

No! This is so wrong.. Why would u ruin something so good?? WHY???.........
There is a few shits i didn't like in this book. AND I HATE THE ENDING SO MUCH!
If i only knew, i wouldn't have read the Epilogue. It just ruined every thing to me.
Still, i couldn't rate it less than 4 stars.

OK is anyone else as mad as I am about the end of this book. I'm mean come on it was so close to being prefect and then that last chapter had to happen and screw it all up. The only persons ending I was really happy with was Mary's, Kat's and Lillia's not so much. Throughout the entire book I was unable to put it down I was so engrossed in the story that I never wanted it to end. Sadly like all good stories it must come to an end, and I cant stress this enough I am not happy.
SpoilerHuge story ending spoiler
Spoiler Kat was suppose to go to Oberlin and maybe one day with Alex, Alex wasn't suppose to end up with Lillia, Lillia was suppose to end up with Reeve and live happily ever after, that is the ending I wanted, not the ending we go.
Other than the ending I was very pleased with this book, I did feel that Mary went a little to far but other than that I was hooked. I'm just so upset that one of my favorite series has ended.

I was going to rate this book four stars but given how annoying I suddenly found Lilia after loving her for the first two books, I took off one star. I hated what Lilia turned into. Running away from emotional confrontations, hurting everyone around her and still parading around as if she could not have done better. And god, I hated how the spell broke at the end because Lilia couldn't keep her emotuons in control. That's what she spent the whole of Fire with Fire and Ashes to Ashes, doing.
I loved the character development of Reeve. And also, the negative development of Mary was fantastic. But the whole thing turned into shit because of the romance between Reeve and Lilia, without which, tp be honest, Both Kat and Lilia would have done nothing to save Reeve's ass.

The writing in this book is insanely compelling. It's easy to read, and kept me turning pages. But if an author doesn't know how to write a good ending to a series, it ruins the whole thing. The ending was abrupt, but even worse, the epilogue was written for a different book. Seriously, it didn't match this book at all. I mean, the names of the characters were the same, but characterization and everything that had happened in the previous three books was just thrown out the window. That's not good writing.

What was that ending? I can't-
So all of this for nothing, awesome.
That ending ruined the book for me, all the book was about how are they going to resolve the problem and was just a rushed ending making it pointless all the book.
