This book is short - which I knew going in, but it was even shorter than I was expecting. I really like the almost subtle way Keegan makes her point with this story. It's a powerful message, in a compact story, and I get why it's so highly recommended and beloved.

I did not expect This 100ish page book to be this good. I'm going to be thinking about these characters for a long time.
It is so difficult to do the right thing sometimes, because we are busy with our own lives, worried for our own selves and our loved ones. And yet some people have the moral courage to do the right thing despite their circumstances. But what about their families who have to have the consequences?
The story was very morally inspiring and at the same time makes me wonder how complicated everything is.
