If you love reading romance, I want to give it a try. I want to know about something that’s your favorite.

This book was so cute! While it started out pretty cheesy and leaned into the jock vs nerd stereotype pretty heavily, overall it was a great intro to the Hetson U series.

I really liked the dynamic between the characters and everything felt well paced which imo is very rare in a novella. I’m excited to continue the series and get to know more of the guys on the team 😌

TRICK PLAY was a great college sports romance featuring a hotshot hockey player and a nerdy heroine who made a deal to fake date. I loved both Lainey and Alex and they made a great couple. They sort of know each other because Lainey's twin brother is also a hockey player at Heston U but they've never really spent any time together. Watching the charming and easy going Alex fall for Lainey was great and this was also a fun introduction to the series and the Heston U hockey team. My only complaint is that I don't understand why Lainey ran away from the party; yes she overhears her bully being a jerk but then Alex defends her so I don't know why she's convinced her relationship with Alex is over. It seemed contrived to create some drama and give Alex a reason to make a grand gesture.

Usually novellas are not my thing… however this book changed my mind instantly! Alex and Lainey? Goals! Their fake arrangement turned real was absolutely everything! I loved how Alex read the book Lainey was reading simply because she was so passionate about it. Every time I get to return to Heston U makes my heart so happy!!
