I must admit, I imagined Jason Momoa's "Drogo" in shining armor as War the whole time, which was delightful.

The plot was too similar to the first book, and I'm starting to feel that all the books in the series will follow the same pattern. I'm not sure that reading about a couple repetitively traveling on a horse for over 500 pages will be enjoyable.

Despite all these, I liked it a little more than the last one. How could I not? It has zombies, and he calls her "wife" the second he sees her. The addition of more secondary characters also makes the world feel less isolated, and War's character is distinct from Pestilence's (my concern was them having the same personality but different appearances).

However, the lore surrounding The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse remains underdeveloped, with numerous unanswered questions. While I appreciate that the story isn't only situated in the USA, the Israel/Palestine setting feels inaccurate and somewhat problematic.

I'm very intrigued by the fourth book because Death is the only recurring and most strong character. So, I will be reading the entire series with hopes of improvement.

This series is the equivalent of the Fast and Furious series: mindless but so entertaining. This book was pretty enjoyable, I liked the main character enough. It felt a bit instalove, but the MC was at least a bit defiant. However,
what War did and the forgiveness part felt contrived and I feel like she shouldn't have gone back to him so willingly.
