Little Bear visits his (adorable) grandparents, and they each tell him a story. Sendak's pictures are so dear - just want to hug those bears.

Very charming little book! It reminds me of my visits to grandparents when I was little. Sendak's illustrations are wonderul!

An okay children's book if a bit simpler then I like. But I expect more from a Caldecott Honor book. Definitely not something I'd want to read over and over again. With ok art.

A good mix of fantasy and emotion packed into an easy reader.
Mother Tongue Notes: Great for beginners. The Goblin story is a good cliffhanger option. Most chapters take more than 20 minutes to read with beginners.

Just as lovely as when my grandparents used to read it to me as a child. :-)

I read this a long time ago to my little brother when he was a toddler and now I've shared it with my own little ones. Made me very nostalgic. I like this story a lot and love the adorable illustrations. My son likes the goblin and the mama bear. Looking forward to reading this one often.
