This one definitely falls victim to second book syndrome... Adam is insufferable and brooding in all the worst ways and I cannot WAIT for her to be done with him permanently. My god. The man has absolutely no personality other than loving Juliette and being so GROSSLY over protective. I'm liking the character development Juliette is having (OMG maybe I SHOULDN'T make my entire personality based on a man???). I'm very ready for the Warner apologist run that I sense coming in the next book.

second read (4/9/2024 - 4/12/2024)
➳ 4.5 ✰
i am gonna split this into sections so it is easier to read in case someone gets bored of my ranting and wants to skip it ••••••••••••
➳ writing style: i am aware some people hate the strikethroughs, run-on sentences, repeating of words, stuttering, etc. but personally i love them. it really shows what juliette is really thinking rather than just pure sentences. i don’t ever hate it when authors don’t do this (especially because this is the only book i know of that does this), but when they do it makes it 10x better.
➳ characters (this one is gonna be long my apologies):
adam: guess i’ll start with the worst of all. adam. dude. wtf is going on man. if you and juliette both wanted to be together then you wouldn’t be begging for her to be with you. its just one sided love at this point. im so glad she broke up with you omg. and the fact that you’re so desperate to keep juliette that you just hide that you’re basically dying because of her?? sir??? honestly just let it go. and during breakfast that one time when kenji was talking about killing anderson and all adam was doing was staring at juliette and then he just stormed off cuz he’s jealous of warner and can’t handle his feelings

this was boring honestly. i couldn’t stand juliette. i couldn’t stand adam. i only found it bearable because of kenji. it’s safe to say i won’t continue the series.
