I really wanted to like this book and it started off well, but I felt increasingly frustrated with the narrator even though I had started out feeling sympathetic to her. I think part of that was down to the book's repetitiveness and in some ways her changes don't happen along an arc. Plus the descriptions started to feel very over wrought. I feel like I probably would have enjoyed it more if the book had used different POVs.

As a disaster lonely queer woman who recently lost a parent, I had to take this in bursts. Strange, nostalgic look at memory and coping and change.
