Incredible stuff, like reading the thoughts of a real-life Sherlock. All about the start of behavioural profiling in the FBI, and oh boy is it interesting. The first few chapters are a bit of a dud though, more like an autobiography of John Douglas, but once you get into the cases it is absolutely unputdownable. Two more things in the way of criticism:
1) You could rename this book 'All The Times John Douglas Was Right' which is pretty annoying
2) You could rename this book 'Why John Douglas Wants You To Agree With The Death Penalty' which is also a bit much.

But, overall, a superbly interesting book. 4 stars.

If you’re a fan of Criminal Minds you’ll recognize many of the cases talked about as they referenced them in the show. This is a deep dive into the Behavioural Science Unit at Quantico. It can be dry at times but still very informative.

A bit self indulgent with Douglas recalling every bit of praise he’s ever gotten but the content is interesting enough to carry it through
