I never am disappointed reading a Hercule Poirot novel, but this was just ok to me. Sometimes, with Christie’s novels, I feel like there are so many characters I have trouble keeping track, and this certainly fell under that category.

Honestly, I was not fond of this book that much. The plot was intriguing initially, and I could see the desire to figure out how all the pieces came together. However, it dragged along a lot in many places and didn't keep me hooked through all the conversations.

This mystery felt much darker than the other Poirot’s I’ve read. With the deaths of two children and the killer themselves being cold blooded and harsh, it’s a serious and nail biting race to the finish rather than the suspenseful and slow whodunnit that’s the usual fare. Nevertheless, it was a great spooky read for a spooky time of year.

I will never not love an Agatha Christie. This one was definitely a bit more slow getting started, but all the twists and turns made up for this. I found it a super quick easy read!
