i found this book in my shelf and i started reading as soon as i read the " she sensed a person in her retina scanners" i was like oh, it's going to be one of these book. but i actually enjoyed it. i mean, i would like to drop kick Iko off a cliff and find kai some personality. definitely recommend to friends its easy enough to read and its fun but, PEARL can you just die already nobody cares that your pretty and smart. when she destroyed cinders gloves can you just get the plague?
but i preferred the other books.

Angry at 13 year old me for never reading this, she would have eaten it up even more than present me did.

While the world building is creative if not fully explained and fleshed out, I still found myself rooting for Cinder. She makes a couple of very stupid mistakes (going to the palace while Queen Levana is there? While there are protests? Trying to get inside even after the droid starts going inside? Really?) But hopefully she becomes wiser throughout the next couple books. Based on reviews I have seen, I have high hopes for the next ones!

Loved, loved, loved Cinder ! Not only a fantastic twist on the Cinderella tale but a wonderful audio book. - Instead of losing her slipper she lost her......; 0 You have to read this if you love fairy tales.
Cinder has the abusive stepmother, the rotten step sisters, well one, he other is actually nice. Cinder is adopted, an adopted cyborg with no memory of her past before a terrible accident that left her- a cyborg. Cyborgs are treated as slaves, to be bought and sold at will. Which her widowed step mother reminds her of often. Cinder is a mechanic and can fix her self an about anything else electronic in the Kingdom. This is how she meets the prince. He brings her his trusted bot to be fixed. Things whirl into action as political dramas, possible wars and an outbreak of the plague terrorizes the planet. Somehow Cinder finds herself involved when she only wants to disappear.
Twisted, fun, action packed and I can't wait for the next book. Sigh, next year. : (

Kind of interesting to read this in the age of COVID. This story was so engaging and interesting. Such a cool take on Cinderella with enough new things to keep it interesting. I liked it, but I’m not sure whether I will keep reading or not.

A very unique re-telling of Cinderella that also stands on its own two feet. I love the world-building and the characters. Meyer's writing style strikes that fine balance between detail and economy. I'm quite happily onto SCARLET.

I cannot believe it took me so long to read this! The world is imaginative and exciting. An excellent beginning to what I can tell will be an amazing series. This book is a gem of YA fiction and I cannot wait to read the rest.

WOWZA. I did not think that I would like this book. Don't get me wrong I love fairy tales to no end and would gladly read story after story, but this just didn't jump off the shelves for me at first. After seeing so many people love it I decided to give it a go and I'm not looking back... Since it is a futuristic take on the Cinderella story it is quite different from other ones that have the comfortingly similar plot line, but this held many surprises along the way. I am starting the next book now and urge others to give it a go even if it's not your usual read!
