This book was good, but was VERY slow at times. There were parts that seemed completely unnecessary to the plot and themes of the book.
The theme of invisibility and how people put labels on you was a very interesting idea throughout this book. The narrator was always living his life by someone else’s label on himself and never lived life for himself. He always carried around his heritage, but let himself be a pawn to whites (even if he was oblivious to it).

very dense and at times complex in language but i loved the story and the narrative. unfortunately still very applicable today, even over 50 years after its publication. the invisible man is a very nuanced character that experiences some very traumatic events that i had a hard time comprehending, making it an intriguing and memorable read.
