I received this ARC in exchange for a honest review.

Hot.

That's how I would describe this book if I had to, which I do because I'm writing a review for it.
Janet is hot, her wittyness, her intellect, how she treats her employees, how she dresses and her personality are just downright hot and very sexy.

Wendy is adorbale, dorky, nerdy and just very sweet. But also very sexy, dreams-about-very-hot-office-sex-with-her-boss-and-emails-about-it-too-her-friend sexy. Which is slightly different from the normal romance stories you read. In which only one is sexy and the other one is adorable and sweet and innocent. Wendy is still kinda innocent, but she doesn't show it.
Hot.

I started reading this book while being surrounded by other people. Don't recommend that. Did get a lot of practice looking innocent while feeling very very naughty though. Also Wendy's humor? I bow to that. Seriously brilliant, I wish I was that witty.

I would very much like to thank [a:Georgette Kaplan|15057029|Georgette Kaplan|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-632230dc9882b4352d753eedf9396530.png] for writing this book. I really, really liked this.

Book was good and witty but had some strange undertones.

Sadly not a book I enjoyed but possibly my fault. I wasn't expecting it to be the book it was. Character development was tiny, the attraction between Wendy and Janet didn't capture me in any way.

Wendy Cedar is an intern at an aerospace engineering company, and she totally has the hots for her new boss Janet Lace. Despite her cool outward demeanor, Janet also has her eye on Wendy, and when she comes across an email sent by Wendy describing a sex dream starring her, Janet decides to act on their mutual attraction.

So the blurb is what made me pick up this book. It seemed like a fun premise, and it ended up being a fun story. Although, warning: the email doesn't actually play a large role in the plot.

The reason this book doesn't get great ratings from me is because the tone throughout the book was so confusing for me. Yes, I get that it's supposed to be a rom-com, but a lot of the writing was just bizarre. There seemed to be many random jumps in plot. The characters perceptions of each other were so off that it was disorienting to switch between perspectives, because it was like seeing a whole new Wendy or a totally different Janet. The conversation and banter was very random, for lack of a better word. There were so many pop culture references thrown in with excerpts from a book on fighter jets - wtf. (Needless to say, I skipped over those passages.)

I skimmed a lot, and the only reason why I still rounded this up to 3 stars is because the plot was interesting. That, and at least Wendy's character is likable. But seriously, I totally missed the part where Wendy and Janet fall for each other. It's like they go from "I wanna f--- you" to "I love you." The sex scenes were hot though, I'll give it that.

If you're willing to dig through a lot of excess to get to a decent story, then give this book a try. It was decent and entertaining enough, I just wish a lot of the not-so-great parts could have been cleared away and replaced with better dialogue and more plot development.
