Alan Moore is often regarded as a juggernaut of the comics world. And many times, that's true. No matter how many times I read Watchmen, I find myself completely drawn in. As a person who in general does not give a flying cluck about Superheroes, Watchmen is the constant exception to that rule. Similarly, V for Vendetta is a superb showing of Moore at his best. This is no Watchmen or V for Vendetta. The storytelling is washed out, the hyper-sexualized portrayals of women are cringe worthy, and the plotlines are messy. Disappointing, with the exception of some fantastic illustration by Kevin O'Neil.
This book was... Something. It makes me understand why the people who adapted the movie adapted the way they did. There is some very shocking stuff. If I were to describe them best the movie is trying to have the Justice League tone where they tried to build a team. Where the comic feels more like what the Suicide Squad movie wished it would be. Very morally grey characters, and f*cked up scenes that stand out. It does leave you a bit dissatisfied with how it ends, and I am not quite sure how I feel about it.
This is so disappointing because I secretly loved the 2003 movie, but man the comic is garbage

This is almost as perfect a piece of Graphic literature as it's possible to get. Moore is a mad genius of a writer who twists well known tales and characters in new and bizarre ways.
Every bit as good as anything else he's written.

I've enjoyed the tales of some of the characters that make up the league, and the idea seemed pretty cool to me so I expected to like this series.
Alas the first storyline was uninteresting. This was redeemed slightly by the short story in between the story lines.
The second story was a retelling of the War of the Worlds and I enjoyed it. The last segment was also interesting, but crammed far too much into such a little space that reading it just became wearying especially since there was no story there for the most part.
