I absolutely adored this book and even bawled my eyes out a couple of times! It's definitely gotten me more intrigued by romantasy vibes! If you need something decently paced and well written, I highly suggest this book 🫶🏻✨️

I don't always enjoy fantasy, but this one has been popular with people around me and I wanted to know what was up! I listened to the audiobook (at 1.5 speed, natch), and I'm glad because I don't think I could have sat through reading the entire thing, but listening worked for me. It felt a little more YA than I was hoping - I know for a lot of folks the spicy factor is part of the draw here, and I was expecting something a little more...adult. And it had some of the same tropes/frustrations I have with YA, fantasy, and romance books. But I did enjoy it enough to listen all the way through and I might listen to the next one, so, there is that! The dragon stuff was cool, the fact that the main character has EDS (though it is never called that, I think that is the intentional implication) is cool, I liked the way things were described and my personal imagined visuals for this book are pretty cool. :)

The fact that this is considered a great fantasy novel is a huge testament to certain peoples STUPIDITY. I had to scoff every 3 sentences at the pre-pubescent-boy humour. Dick jokes on every page get QUITE tiring.
The whole things smut. Not active, but that’s a ALL the FMC thinks about.
If I hear you’ve read this and enjoyed the entire experience, my level of respect for you will PLUMET.
I better not hear another person call this a fantasy novel, the only good part of this book was the dragons I admit. But the thing reads like a tween novel from way back in 2013, and hey, I lived back then. A tween novel can hit HARD, if WRITTEN WELL.
