So interesting to have it be books 3&4 of the six book saga with each book focusing on a different group. It means we get to spend a lot of quality time with Frodo and Sam and less with Aragorn, Legolas, gimli, merry and pippin. 

Sam is such a defender tho. Anytime he things someone is treating Frodo unfairly he loses his temper and that’s actually so relatable.

I love this portion of the story but I hate the structure with frodo and Sam only being in the second half. It makes the pacing weird and I found myself missing Sam and Frodo in the first half, then the rest of the fellowship once I hit "book 4". Nevertheless it's still amazing to read middle earth. No one else has crafted a world on this level
