I liked the idea of this a lot, but the execution felt a little jerky and even a little boring in places. I did enjoy the way everything worked out, but it was a little difficult getting there. Still, I had some laughs and passed some enjoyable hours. I didn't think it was as good as [book: Summon the Keeper], but I did enjoy reading it.

This was weaker than the first book, primarily because it focused more on teenagers and they're a bit too stereotypical (and clearly written by an adult). I liked the angel especially when he was trying to be good and failing miserably. I was not invested in Claire and Dean's sexual problems at all.

Very good. It is interesting to jump between all of the characters and see their different points of view. I feel Tanya Huff does a good job of giving each character a unique voice so you can tell whose head your in.

Tanya Huff is my safe space, ya'll. I just love everything she does. Very cute little romcom that also has some truly great humor involving cats and demons. (I didn't say angels, because angels are basically just cats, doncha know?)

Recommended for: Anyone who likes fun urban fantasy or enjoys fun talking cat humor.

Risas aseguradas! ;D

I just don't think that this series is for me. I enjoyed Tanya Huff's Torin Kerr series well enough; it was entertaining, though not earth-shattering. In this series, Huff seems to be going for that tongue-in-cheek tone reminiscent of something like Good Omens, but that brand of funny fantasy isn't my favorite. On top of that, Clare is so self-righteous and patronizing that even a talking cat and the role-reversal of a born-sexy-yesterday male didn't significantly improve my reading experience.
