I never really got into the book properly. I don't think I like books without a plot. ik some ppl love it but this book was slow paced for me and I struggled to carry on. I found myself dropping it and then trying to come back, but that's okay, maybe that's the beauty of this book: the normality of it all. the flow, the lack of disruptive quotations. it's about life and maybe that's what I didn't like.

throw in one or two more tropes and this easily becomes one of those romance novels where the characters lack any ability to communicate for the sake of plot tension. only slightly litfic-ified.
which is sad because i wanted to like this (mostly because i loved Sally Rooney's first book [b:Conversations with Friends|32187419|Conversations with Friends|Sally Rooney|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1638729263l/32187419._SY75_.jpg|52827120]), and Normal People was quite enjoyable in the beginning. unfortunately, despite the fact that the book does have its good moments, it overall hit the emotional depth of a 2012 sad girl tumblr post.

I mean... this was FINE and I'd definitely recommend the audiobook for this book but I think I just don't get the Sally Rooney hype??
