Extremely challenging read. Long, complex sentence structure and rambling narrative makes the topic difficult to understand. I did not know or care about most of the people discussed, but did find that I learned a few things along the way. Ceasars biography stands out as a highlight, and I enjoyed portions of Antony, especially those parts that involved Cleopatra.

I don’t know if it’s just Plutarch’s style, or this specific translation, but every sentence was so difficult to comprehend. There’s so little context for things, an abundance of names, and it jumps so quickly from one point to the next it feels incredibly disjointed. I made it through the first two biographies but I can’t remember a single thing.
