Really enjoyed the plot and build up in this story. Didn't feel rushed. Wish there was a second one to continue the story.

This book follows Lennon who ends up being Phoenix tutor in the beginning and then something happens and they become enemies, Phoenix goes on to become a rock star and Lennon has family issues to tend to. They meet up a few years later, still enemies but the more time they spend together the more they realize how much they truly care for each other. I absolutely loved this read and would recommend it to someone looking for a good enemies to lovers romance.

This book was well written and had a well developed story line but it made me SOB. I hate when they promise a HEA but make you cry beforehand haha!

I have no idea why i read it since i hate second-chance books (probably because everytime i give someone one, they only hurt me again lol)

i need to stop reading about straight people, they are giving me headache

And everyone needs to remember consent (especially Phoenix, but Lennon too).
When you ask for consent you are not "ruining mood" or whatever. Just f*cking ask

Mixed Review

I initially thought that this book would turn out to be one of those rare memorable stories, but unfortunately it missed the mark. It had all the right ingredients but didn’t deliver. Some of the things that occurred made me not take the book very seriously.
For instance the part where Lennon and Phoenix’s groupie hooked up while he watches. It made sense to me how she thought that that would punish him.
Lennon stringing George along to hurt Phoenix. Which ultimately hurts George.
George pursing her despite it being clear as day that she is not that into him and that it will cause a conflict with him and Phoenix.
The reasoning behind her taking the job didn’t make sense to me considering how hurt and angry she is with him. Nor does it make sense why the band manager would ever consider hiring Phoenix’s ex; stipulate that they can’t have sex.
Phoenix’s reluctance to even acknowledge that he hurt Lennon, especially since he clearly cared about her. It made no sense how mean he was to her and how badly he treated her. Much less apologize to her.
Is writing self deprecating words on one’s body a thing? I have never heard of anyone doing that. What is the purpose? Is it to reinforce negative thoughts of oneself?
Lennon and Phoenix’s antics were so juvenile and sometimes silly. I found it hard to like either character, much less root for them.
I think that one of the toughest challenge for authors is writing character (s) that the reader feel strongly about (good or bad or love or hate), inspiring the reader to root for the character (s) and/or invest in them emotionally. Also to write an interesting and compelling story.
I find that the books I continue to think about after it ends are typically my favorite.
Unfortunately this book was one that I was looking forward for it to come to an end.

Such a great romance which cross lots of genres from
childhood friends to childhood lovers to second chance romance with forced proximity, it took me on a journey with Phoenix and Lennon.
Phoenix - troubled rockstar with a very traumatic past who makes some bad choices and at times I wanted wrong his neck. Underneath buried deep is a generous and loving man but he’s such a big star he doesn’t need anyone.
Lennon - has had her heart well and truly broken and is dealing with her own trauma when a she’s asked to save his sorry ass and she finds an opportunity to take revenge.
I loved their relationship development and the side characters and fabulous, I hope there are spin offs for Storm, Skylar and Quinn. That would hopefully give more of Phoenix and Lennon’s life together later on. A few trigger warnings should be checked out before picking this one up.
