I fell in love with literally every character in this book. Sometimes Emily is frustratingly stubborn but there are consequences for her actions just as for any other character. I loved the found family aspect. 

Spoilers about romance stuff:

I was worried that the narrative was going to force Emily into a relationship with Wendell, but luckily those fears didn‘t come true. I genuinely wish these two characters to be together now, and the ending totally makes sense for both of them.

Can‘t wait to read the second book!

Oh man I absolutely adored Emily’s adventures, hectic as they were. The ending fell a bit flat for me but that’s only because I didn’t realize it was a series! Can’t wait for the next book:)

my god???? the start was a bit slow at first, but then i was completely enamoured by the story. the writing style, the scenery, the atmosphere, the worldbuilding, but most particularly, the banter between emily & wendell. the romance is something on the side for the majority & then it blooms & it's so splendid. wendell is so babygirl & emily is so neurodivergent coded. ahhh, i am overjoyed that this is a trilogy. i will be seeking the next installment immediately!
