If the smut in Book 1 of the Wild Seasons series was off the chain, THIS WAS EVEN BETTER. Though I once again must say, if you are going to be doing kink PLEASE NEGOTIATE IT BEFOREHAND. I know spontaneity is sexy, especially in our fantasy lives, but oh my GOODNESS if you're going to be tied up you need to talk about it with your partner. Also, DO NOT USE BUNGEE CORDS TO TIE SOMEONE UP FOR SEX!

The plotting and pacing of this book felt a little tighter than Book 1 in the series, potentially because Christina Lauren (as the writing duo) have already established the world and the characters during the Vegas portion of Book 1. Harlow and Finn are great foils for each other, and the only thing I would've loved to see a bit more of was that beginning part of their relationship, where they were putting the pieces together that they were connecting over more than just sex. It was nice to see some more of the Harlow, Lola, Mia friendship going on, and I really liked having Finn's perspective alongside Harlow's in this book! Gave us a bit more of his friendship with Ansel and Oliver, too.

To my amazement, this really didn't bore me, nor did it make me roll my eyes or grate on my nerves... much.

In all of this author's works I've read, there is always, always some misunderstanding or event at around the 85% mark, that royally pisses off or devastates one of the MC's. Hence the couple breaks up, they moan and lament for ages, one of them caves or comes to their senses, and they live happily ever after. This was no different. I was literally waiting for the proverbial shoe to drop because of course, it had to. If it hadn't happened, I honestly would have liked this so much better because it seems I'm becoming more and more intolerant of unnecessary drama just to check off some boxes in how to write a romance.

Having said that, I've always given props to Christina Lauren for some of the smexiest smex I've ever read, and this did not fail. Actually it was one of their more kinkier and dirtier books. Yep.

This story was all about an attempt to forget real life woes, where Finn and Harlow make a pact - sex with no strings attached. And yes, we all know how that plays out right?? Mmm hmm.

Finn is pure masculine, confident, take charge, alpha male. Once he wraps his mind around the fact that he has found quite the catch in Harlow, he's actually the first to admit to his feelings, and I appreciate a man who's not afraid to express himself.

Currently for the most part I avoid M/F dynamics, because obviously it is the female aspect that I usually have a problem with. Surprisingly and gratefully, Harlow ranks high as one of my favorite CL female characters (Chloe and Hannah rule!). She's feisty, unapologetic, and I thanked the book gods that she was not a whiny, wishy washy, "I hate him so much but need his cock anyway" kind of girl. Because of this, stars were saved as opposed to being taken away like they usually are.

So I will confidently say that many romance enthusiasts will probably find little fault in this. Overall, in my rare dip back into the M/F pool, this was a success - minus that one annoying and predictable small complaint as stated above.

this was just so… boring? it felt like neither of the characters had any connection or anything going for them. they were so unlikable tbh like there’s grumpy and then there is just plain annoying. in all there were definitely things that were enjoyable like the few times harlows family was mentioned but everything felt very rushed and had no depth. it was painful to get thru and did not feel like they should’ve had their hea.
