This is my first book by K.L. Walther, but it won’t be my last! “A First Time For Everything” is a super sweet YA coming-of-age book that I really enjoyed.

All the characters were so easy to love, and I was rooting for them all to get their happy endings. This book was all about the swoon, but it didn’t go into too deep romance themes, which I liked. I like when YA romance doesn’t go too deep into undying love but keeps it young, fresh, and a little fickle. The 20-year-old me would have been wishing this was my life. The 45-year-old me thought some of the bride tribe was a bit problematic in their dealings with a 17-year-old, but I’ll let that slide. The setting felt like I could have totally fit right in, even though it took place in a fancy suburb near Princeton.

This is a perfect easy beach read or for a rainy day.

I want to express my gratitude to SOURCEBOOKS Fire, for providing this book for review consideration through NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are solely my own.

I saw Haley reading this in the 50 states in 50 days series and I'm in need of a palate cleanser after a romantasy so I picked this up. I also read a book from the same author last month and I loved it.

This one is just okay for me. It had its ups and downs, but still a sweet read! My instincts are truly never wrong in rooting for the right person in love triangles or whatnots like in here lol.

Mads and Marco were the sweetest and so are Katie and Austin. K.L. Walter did a great job making me side with Mads at first, I was truly pissed at myself for being a Katie hater. Like come on there's a reason she's Meredith’s best friend!

And speaking of! My favorite parts were whenever Mer and Wit showed up. This book just made me love them more than I already do. It's not a real wedding without a poem by Mer and Wit at this point!

Loved all the Taylor Swift references too, of course. Mads and Marco's conversation by the end of the summer chapters were so betty coded?! It was set in august too, it's perfect 😭 Also, the best Speak Now songs were mentioned (which is so Mads and Marco coded btw) and Snow on the Beach, my taylana heart was so happy.

Look. This book will not change your life. You won’t have some big intense realization about what the meaning of true love or whatever
But it’s fun
And I laughed
And I gasped
And I squealed and kicked my feet
And it made me remember how much I loved reading again
