3.5 stars - 2 people standing on business and taking sweet, sweet revenge? Sign me up! I loved the revenge part and the characters said funny stuff sometimes. Simultaneously, they said some questionable things that had me side eyeing them multiple times. I do feel annoyed that something tragic had to happen in order for both main characters to realize how much they loved their sons. Sadly, I think this is the reality a lot of the times
but I'm glad there was character development
and I did get uncomfortable reading about certain stuff (read the trigger warnings). I loveee the southern colloquialism and I adore that S.A. Cosby always incorporates this in his books. I did enjoy All The Sinners Bleed a bit more than this one, and I think I'll pick up another S.A. Cosby book in the future.

Wow. This book had its grip into me from the very beginning. The fathers of a brutally murdered interracial, gay couple come together on a path of vengeance and redemption.

This book is fast paced and packed with action, violence, and gore. It is a gritty novel that uses the powerful emotion of grief to explore heavier topics- homophobia and racism.

Through all the carnage, though, there is the story of the unlikely antiheroes, forging a friendship and learning what “love is love” truly means.

If you want a book you can’t put down, I highly recommend giving this a read!

I didn’t think this book would have me crying but here I am.
Beautiful gorgeous STUNNING writing. Felt like a movie playing in my head. Cosby painted a beautiful picture. I thought to myself “someone had BETTER make a movie out of this shit” and I googled it and they are indeed making a movie so thank goodness.

Crying ugly tears at the end. Serious book hangover for me. I kept putting it down before an super intense part because I wanted to read what happened but I didn’t want to know.
