i haven't been on SG in awhile so i didn't get to update this, but i had a lot of fun reading it. perfectly angsty with the right amount of fluff and domesticated fluff. i really love the chemistry of the characters in this one, and especially love that it took place for like 20 years. i think these two are my fave couple so far, but can't wait to get to know the others!

I enjoyed this one a bit more than the first! It's about a long term relationship, and all the things that come up between them in their long years together. I do like the standard format of romance novels, where you meet, a plot happens, you fall in love and the book ends at the start of your happily ever after. But I also really enjoyed this, where we got to see the couple falling in love, and then everything they did to stay in love over the next twenty years. Love is something that takes communication and compromise and understanding; it doesn't always magically fall into place!
I liked the characters and the set up for the next book seems interesting; I'll probably be continuing this series!

What happens after Happy Ever After?
In book #1 of the Pink Bean series, we met Sheryl and Kristin, owners of the eponymous coffee shop. This instalment focuses on their 20 years together and the ups and downs of a long-term relationship.
It's so unusual to see this tackled in lesfic and it's a pleasure to have a "romance" author acknowledge that marriage is not easy and requires more than hearts and flowers.

Moderate: Death of parent, Sexual violence, Lesbophobia, Grief, Child abuse, and Cursing
Minor: Suicide
Wish it was more about Kristen and the pink bean and less about Sheryl and her alcohlism, trauma and general dysfuntion of their relationshipkch's review
